Other Creatives

ALWYN KUMST, C.S.C., DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY (Pilot, Season One & Two)

As a Cinematographer, he has worked in 38 different countries. Eleven years ago he visited Canada. Captured by the country, he decided to make Toronto his home and he has worked steadily ever since.

Alwyn's film credits include The Divine Ryans (Genie Nomination for Best Cinematography), Secret Santa (Lifetime) and Drive Time Murders (PAX). He has also been the Cinematographer on many hit series including Mutant X, Relic Hunter and The Queen of Swords.

COLIN HOULT, C.S.C., DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY (Season Two)
From the age of 12, Colin wanted to be a cameraman. After shooting many short films in elementary and high school, Colin got a summer job as a camera trainee and vowed after high school to continue in the film business. After working 8 years as a camera assistant he got his first break as camera operator on the feature film Rude. Working as a camera operator and Director of Photography on many television and feature projects, Colin became one of the youngest camerapersons ever to become a full member of the Canadian Society of Cinematographers (CSC) at the age 29. After working as "A" camera operator and second unit Director of Photography on season one of Falcon Beach, Colin took over the reigns as main unit Director of Photography part way through season two. His recent credits include Mutant X, Relic Hunter, the upcoming Transit Lounge, and he won the CSC award for Best Short Film Cinematography in 2006 for My Uncle Navy and Other Inherited Disorders.

JAMES JANDRISCH, COMPOSER (Season Two)
James is one of Canada's hottest film composers. Since his arrival to the scene in 2001, he has scored 8 feature films, well over 100 hours of dramatic television, and dozens of commercials. He has earned 4 Gemini Award nominations and won 2 Gemini Awards.

As a result of his university studies in jazz and orchestral film composition, a love of world music and years of playing as a hired gun in several top touring pop bands, he brings a unique and often eclectic range to the scoring stage. James is also a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. He keeps current by serving as a music producer for indie solo artists and bands.

Sadly, although he's an avid snowboarder and trail bike rider, he still sucks at golf.

"I grew up in Winnipeg. Ironically I've spent many years partying and playing gigs on the very beach where Falcon Beach shoots. I'm scoring what at times seems like a little piece of my life. Freaky yes - but very cool. It's an absolute blast to be on this show," said James.

Some of his recent credits include feature films: On the Nose, The Delicate Art of Parking, American Venus, Punch, and Pink Ludoos. For television: Godiva's, Human Cargo, Cold Squad, Show Me Yours, Blood Ties and yes, Sesame Street.

GEORGE ROULSTON, EDITOR (Season Two)
George started at BBC-TV in London, and has subsequently worked in Amsterdam, Paris and Los Angeles as well as in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver - and now Winnipeg. He won a Gemini and Director's Guild awards for the CBC movie The Many Trials of One Jane Doe, produced by Kim Todd and Bernie Zukerman. He's been fortunate to work with some of Canada's finest movie directors including Jerry Ciccoritti, Kari Skogland and Eleanore Lindo.

LISA MARTIN, COSTUME DESIGNER (Season One)
Lisa designs the look of the stars of Falcon Beach from the inside out: "There isn't one design approach," she says, "It's discovering the inside of the character to determine how he or she should look on the outside." She looks for diversity in dress to match the diversity of the characters. Lisa is an expert buyer. She buys carefully and orders alterations so the character can look the very best possible. Costume design and key buying has been Lisa's life for 17 years.

Her credits include: costume designer and assistant costume designer for the feature film Fever Pitch, assistant costumer designer for Welcome to Moosepor and key buyer for the feature films The Perfect Man, Assault on Precinct 14, Dark Water and Resident Evil:Apocalypse, and costume designer on numerous television series and movies.
